Joy was born in Barduari, a small village near Raiganj, West Bengal . to Dibakar and Kalpana Chakraborty. His nickname is Zx. He spent his childhood living with his Family in Barduari and his sister, Deepa. Later in his childhood, he moved to Raiganj and attended Subhasganj High School in Raiganj, and then Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya, in Raiganj.
